Sogs of modern slavery - Mooncup Accident: Drill Is Gone

Improvising duo Mooncup Accident releases a new cassette filled with almost 40 minutes of dense menstrual blues. The title - more wishful than realistic - says: Drill Is Gone.
 
The guttural & buzzing, hysterical & suppressed sound mass produced on the record could also be described as a ritual form arranged around a hollow - like a termite nest which in the dark can appear as some sort of primitive architecture. With Mooncup Accident we approach the roots of blues by changing perspective: black doesn’t refer to complexion but to light sensitivity. This blues becomes the music of slaves once again. The genre that has turned into a cultural fraud during the course of one century is shattered and turned into a junkyard material.
 
The overall approach of Mooncup Accident is showing what the slave’s position is. His expression is mixed with the very environment that enslaves him. His voice is coming from a restricted area. The liberated slave of our times doesn’t refuse improvisation, money or travel - but he understands that it’s all just a next form of slavery which defines us. Improvised junk is restricted by moments of mechanical work and forced rest.
